January 7, 2021

Director of the Yale Institute for Global Health Dr. Saad B. Omer, MBBS, MPH, PhD, FIDSA, recently discussed a variety of COVID-19 topics with multiple media outlets. He recently conducted a Facebook Live event with Senator Chris Murphy to answer questions from the public about coronavirus vaccines. He explained to the New Haven Register why people should feel confident taking the vaccines. Omer shared with NBC Connecticut that the m-RNA technology used in both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines is not new, and has been used for about a decade. The Atlantic quotes Omer in a piece on possible vaccine side effects, and he stated unequivocally to The Sun Sentinel that the vaccines do not cause infertility in women.
