Tracy Webber

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where I currently reside.

I attended NYC public schools, entering LIU - Post in 1987.

I graduated with my BS in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1992.

After working for 8 years as a budgeting and contracting analyst, I decided to return to school for nursing.  I took prerequisite courses at CUNY Hunter College for three semesters; was accepted to Yale School of Nursing as a GEPN student in 2000.  I completed my RN Certification in 2002 and earned my MSN in Midwifery in 2003.

I have worked as a staff nurse on mother-baby, antepartum and labor and delivery; as a matter of fact, my first nursing job was at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  I worked for private practice as a midwife as well as a hospital-based midwifery service.  I also dabbled in administration at Planned Parenthood.

In 2009, I relocated to The Poconos and became the first midwife to attend a birth at Pocono Medical Center.  It is something that I am very proud of.  I relocated back to NYC to go into nursing administration, becoming a Director of MCH Nursing at Wyckoff Hospital.  Nineteen months later, I was laid off.

After that, I began working in the same capacity at Woodhull Hospital and decided to return to Brookdale Hospital to work as a per-diem midwife.  I was offered the Director of Midwifery position.  About eight months later, I was promoted to Director of MCH Nursing and Midwifery and that is where I remain.

In my spare time, when I have some, I enjoy watching movies and doing ANYTHING creative (sewing, crocheting, arts and crafts, cooking).  I love music and singing…karaoke is something I enjoy doing.  I’ve been bitten by the travel bug; I cruised solo for my 47th birthday.

Most importantly, I am the single mom to an amazing, nine year-old daughter named Noni Sarai.  She is my greatest accomplishment.  She is intelligent and beautiful…I know that I am biased but she really is.  Living in NYC gives us access to see and do so many things, so I try my best to experience life with her.  I am also a member of a sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and although I have been very active in the past few years I am planning to take a much lesser role for the next three. I have also started running, and ran my first 5K marathon in July 2016.
