Nicole Colline, DNP, FNP-C, MSN, BSN
About
Nicole Colline, DNP, FNP-C, MSN, BSN began her nursing career in 2004 upon graduating from Quinnipiac University (QU). During her studies, she was a board member of the QU Student Nurses Society and was chosen represent the University at the National Student Nurses Association national meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to graduation, she received the Peer Recognition in Nursing Leadership Award acknowledging her future potential in nursing leadership. Immediately upon graduating with her BSN, Nicole enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Quinnipiac, graduating in 2007 with a MSN-FNP degree. Nicole graduated with honors from Sacred Heart University (SHU) in May 2020 with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. She was honored to be a JONAS Scholar and represent SHU in Washington, D.C., at the annual JONAS Leadership Conference. Nicole has maintained membership with Sigma Theta Tau’s Nursing Honor Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Society (CT APRN), and the National organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties Society (NONPF) throughout her graduate career.
Nicole’s career has crossed various avenues in healthcare including hospital-based bedside medical-surgical nursing; charge nurse of a busy cardiac-stepdown and Angioplasty Unit at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven where she also served on the wound care and safety committees; and nurse educator for graduate RN’s entering the hospital. As an APRN, Nicole became immersed in primary and urgent care and currently spends her clinical time in long-term care. Nicole holds a full-time faculty position at Yale University School of Nursing as the Specialty Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
