About
Jennifer McIntosh, PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CNE, NEA-BC is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Clinical Education for the Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing (GEPN) Program.
Dr. McIntosh earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the New York Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Healthcare Systems Management from Loyola University, and both a Master of Science as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Adelphi University. She is board-certified as a PMHNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.
Prior to joining Yale School of Nursing, Dr. McIntosh taught at several universities, and held progressive leadership positions in the emergency department and behavioral health settings, with the most recent position as the Director of Patient Care Services within a large health system in New York.
Dr. McIntosh serves on the Delta Mu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a member of several professional nursing organizations, including the Eastern Nursing Research Society, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, and New York Organization of Nurse Executives and Leaders.
Dr. McIntosh is actively engaged in global health education and research. Through the Yale School of Nursing Office of Planetary Health and Global Engagement, she serves as faculty lead and co-facilitates graduate and doctoral student participation in the University of Tokyo, Japan Spring International Program. She also holds an affiliation as an Associate Professor Volunteer in the Master’s in Nursing program at the Université d’État d’Haïti (State University of Haiti). In addition, she maintains ongoing research collaborations with faculty at the Xiangya School of Nursing at Central South University, China.
Clinical Practice
As a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, Dr. McIntosh has practiced in both community outpatient and private practice settings, providing care to individuals across the lifespan, including experience with ketamine-assisted treatment.
