Michelle Kennedy, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

About

Michelle Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and Medical Anthropology from University of California at San Diego and a Master of Science in Nursing from Yale School of Nursing. With a passion for community health and a dedication to the human aspects of medicine, she works as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She is delighted to be able to work as a lecturer at YSN, shaping and being shaped by the future nurse practitioners of the world.

Her professional journey has taken her across diverse landscapes, from serving with Mercy Ships in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, where she immersed herself in understanding and addressing the healthcare needs of underserved populations, to her role as a National Health Service Corps Scholar along the San Diego border, and now in New Haven.

Michelle is deeply committed to fostering meaningful connections with her patients, valuing each encounter as an opportunity to listen, learn, and empower their unique stories and experiences. Her approach to medicine is underscored by a belief in the power of community and the importance of equitable access to healthcare for all.

Beyond her clinical practice, Michelle is a trained spiritual director in the Jesuit tradition, and a former elder in her faith community.  She finds beauty in the great outdoors, the halls of a museum, a warm fire on a winter night, and the pages of a good book, but can most frequently be found at sporting events, cheering on her 3 kids.
