Taina Lopez-Cartagena is a Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience as a practicing nurse in the healthcare industry.
Currently she is a full time Clinician working with a community healthcare network, and is an Adjunct Nursing Professor at New York University.
She received her B.S. in Nursing with a minor in health from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International. She obtained her Master’s degree through the Advanced Practice Nursing, Family Track program from New York University graduating with distinction. After receiving her advanced Degree she completed a Nurse Practitioner Primary Care residency at an FQHC in Bronx, NY.
She is dual Board Certified with ANCC and AANP and Board Certified by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation. She is also a Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner and American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist.
Because of her strong family values and belief in giving back, she became an avid volunteer. She has received several awards, and was featured in SUNY Plattsburgh’s news for her volunteer work. She has volunteered locally, throughout the United States, and internationally. Some of her most memorable experiences have led her to travel to South Dakota at a Native American Reservation, and the outskirts of Sierra Leone Africa where she provided free healthcare for those communities.
