Sharon Pearce

Sharon Pearce has been a Registered Nurse since 1984 graduating with an ADN from a community college in a small town.

She obtained her BSN and MSN from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) graduating from the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Hospital program in 1992.  She resides in North Carolina and currently works as a staff anesthetist for a CRNA owned group called Carolina Anesthesia which staff office based practices in North Carolina and South Carolina. 

Sharon is a past President of the North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She has served as the Region 2 Director, Vice President, President Elect, and President of the AANA. She has also served on the executive committee of the Nursing Organizational Alliance (NOA). Sharon has been a registered lobbyist on and off for a number of years with legislative involvement for over 18 years.  She was the lead lobbyist and was instrumental in passing NC Senate Bill 911, “The Care for School Children With Diabetes Act.”

In addition, Sharon has run for the North Carolina House of Representatives.  Although she was unsuccessful in her bid in 2016, the experience has fueled her passion for a DNP project that will explore the topic of nurses in elected office
