James DeMarco

Raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, he moved down to Washington, D.C and received his BSN and MS in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University. 

His nursing career has involved working in the field of mental health at both standalone psychiatric facilities and academic medical centers. He currently works as the manager of the psychiatric medical unit at George Washington University Hospital, where he has a passion for advocating for the improvement in quality care and safety for the psychiatric patient population. He also is an adjunct professor at George Washington University, teaching the didactic portion of the psychiatric nursing course with an emphasis on the incorporation of psych intervention within all nursing specialties.
