MaryEllen, nicknamed Mel, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Fairfield University and a Master of Arts in Health System’s Management School of Business from Sacred Heart University.
In addition, Mel graduated The Health Management Academy of GE Fellows Program for Nurse Executives, is Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) through American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), recently published and sits on multiple Advisory Boards. She has spoken internationally on High Reliability Organizations and nationally on Nurse Leader Academy Programs. She has been a nurse for over 30-years specializing in the Operating Room, has held numerous nurse leadership roles over the past 20-years and has been a Chief Nursing Officer for the past 13-years. In Mel’s ‘off-hours’ she prefers to spend her time outdoors with her family (husband, two grown children, close family/friends) and their black Lab named Beau.
