Yale Nursing Everywhere
Expanding Access to Nursing Education – a Hybrid Approach
Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is an integral part of a network of solutions to advance the volume and quality of nursing education. Our advanced practice nurse and midwifery graduates focus on disease prevention while being capable of caring for future patients of all ages, with a wide range of needs and issues.
To tackle the issues of spiraling costs, decreasing national health, and a shortage of nurses, Yale School of Nursing is creating a pathway to a YSN education through a hybrid online/on-campus program that allows students to enroll full or part-time from their current environment. By bypassing the physical constraints of being on the YSN campus, a Yale nursing degree is accessible to students across the country--significantly increasing the number of qualified graduates to address our national nursing shortage.
Our Collective Impact
Together, we have the opportunity to make significant strides for:
- Access to Healthcare: Increase the number of nurse professionals across the country where they are needed the most. APRNs can practice independently in most states helping to fill gaps in healthcare services.
- Accessibility to a Premier Education: Provide a Yale education to students who would otherwise not be able to join YSN in-person but are ready to offer advanced professional healthcare service where they live.
- Continuous Best-In-Class Nursing Care: Offer valuable educational courses to YSN alumni, clinic/community partners and our national nursing professionals to keep our workforce up to date on healthcare delivery and wellness.
How You Can Help
Below are the ways your investment would significantly support caregivers of the future and help our graduate nursing education programs:
- Support the upgrade and expansion of our Learning Studio for professional-quality course multimedia generation.
- Invest in the translation of our in-person concentrations to an online format where students receive more in-depth training on key health conditions, cutting-edge approaches, and different populations (Diabetes, Gender & Sexuality Health Justice, Oncology, Precision Wellness).
- Help expand our hybrid degree offerings to include all MSN health specialties – family medicine, psychiatric nursing, pediatric primary and acute care, midwifery, women’s health, adult/gerontology primary and acute care.
- Underwrite the creation of new CNE (continuing nursing education) courses to reach nurses nation-wide to advance their knowledge and build an income stream for YSN to support future educational innovation.
A Special Opportunity to Double Your Giving
When you make an endowed gift to YSN, the university will make an equal and unrestricted contribution to YSN’s general endowment. Imagine what a combined $100 million from donors and the university can do for Yale nurses and midwives, now and for decades to come!
