Jenny Rendon

Jennifer Rendon is currently the Critical Care Nurse Practitioner at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas Jennifer earned an Associate Degree in Nursing at Houston Community College in 2003 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University in 2009. Wanting to transition into the role of Advanced Practice Nurse, she went on to receive a Master’s of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt University in 2014 where she studied to become an Adult and Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with an Intensivist subspecialty.  Later, in 2015 she received a Master’s of Science in Health Care Ethics from Creighton University’s College of Medicine.

As her educational track demonstrates, Jennifer’s two passions are critical care and ethics.  Her areas of interest include critical care nurses’ understanding of health care ethics, eliminating disparities in the delivery of critical care services, and advocating against the marginalization of the critically ill geriatric population.  Her current Doctoral work continues along this path.  The focus of her Doctoral scholarship is the development of a health care ethics competency for critical care nurses.
