Dr. Margaret Hamburg speaks about how nurses can make a difference in a changing world

Dr. Margaret (Peggy) Hamburg spoke on April 11 at the annual Bellos lecture about how nurses can make a difference in a changing world. An internationally recognized leader in public health and medicine, and a former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Hamburg commented, “Nurses really are the most important link in our healthcare system…. paradoxically, they are often undervalued and unable to work to their full potential, despite the fact that their unique insights position them to make a difference. So we can and must do better. Now is the time to raise the status and capabilities of nursing.”
