Scientists have said we have limited time to make major societal change to stop global warming/climate damage and the resulting extreme weather, coastal flooding, shifting disease patterns, pollution, food and water stresses1. As the nation’s most trusted profession and largest workforce, nurses and midwives can step up to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare2 and to prepare health systems3Yale School of Nursing joins with environmental health colleagues4 to educate nurses and health professionals to address this challenge of our time.
