Yale School of Nursing hosts annual Sleep Symposium

On April 27, the fourth annual Sleep Symposium was held at the Yale School of Nursing. The speakers were Dr. Janet Mullington, professor of Neurology at Harvard University, and Dr. Naresh Punjabi, professor at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Nancy Redeker, the Beatrice Renfield Term Professor of Nursing at YSN, gave an update on Sleep Research at Yale.

Participants from all over the Northeast heard talks spanning a wide range of research, including sleep apnea, physiological effects of insufficient sleep, and the effects of cardiovascular disease on sleep. A poster presentation explored multiple topics related to sleep & symptom research and chronobiology. 

The symposium is sponsored by the Yale Center for Sleep Disturbance in Acute & Chronic Conditions, Yale School of Nursing Biobehavioral Laboratory, and the Yale Program in Sleep Medicine.
