Office of Research

For nurses and midwives, our reseach helps people manage their chronic conditions, prevent diseases and disability, cope with symptoms, understand genetic risks, have healthier pregnancies and outcomes at the start of life, and dignified care at the end of life. Our science develops new interventions as well as helps translate successful interventions into effective practice.

The Office of Research provides support to faculty and students conducting clinical research. It is staffed by the assistant director for research activities, a statistician, a data manager, and a senior administrative assistant. The Research Lead and designated senior YSN faculty members provide mentorship and research support for students, fellows and junior faculty members engaged in research.

Services provided include:

  • Coordination and oversight of peer review activities

  • Support for all aspects of grant preparation, including budget preparation

  • Support for post-award activities including financial management and reporting requirements

We also offer opportunities for early stage research brainstorming sessions as well as meetings for NIH and YSN review comment reviews and discussion. These sessions are meant to be helpful as PIs prepare revisions for subsequent proposal submissions. If you are interested, please contact Sarah Zaino to set up these meetings.
