Glu-Coach Study

Glu-COACH logoHave type 1 diabetes?

  • 13-21 years old?

  • Self-identify as Black and/or Latinx?

  • Not using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), but would like to start? ~OR~ Using a CGM less than 50% of the time?

  • You could qualify for our study!


Study Goal?

This research study is to determine if a peer mentoring program to support continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) for Black and Latinx teens with type 1 diabetes is helpful. This study is funded by the National Institute of Health.

Study Layout?

Participants who enroll in the study will have a 50/50 chance of being in one of two groups:
  • Receive Nurse Support
  • Receive Nurse Support and Peer Mentoring
  • Study layout infographic
  • Most of the study activities are done remotely

Benefits?

  • FREE CGM and supplies for 6 months & CGM training!

  • 1-on-1 support from a nurse practitioner!

  • All participants will receive up to $220 for completing data collection.

  • If you are assigned to the Glu-COACH group, you will receive up to $300.00 for participating in peer mentor sessions.
