Sigma Theta Tau Membership
The purpose of Sigma Theta Tau International (Sigma), National Honor Society of Nursing, is to recognize superior achievement, the development of leadership qualities, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work, and strengthen commitment to the ideas and purpose of the profession.
The YSN Delta Mu Chapter of Sigma was chartered in 1980 and currently has more than 500 members.

Eligibility for Membership
Students are invited to join Delta Mu if the following criteria are met:
GEPN students:
- Achieve academic excellence based on set criteria *
- Are ranked in the highest 35 percent of their nursing class
- Have completed one-half of the nursing curriculum
MSN/DNP Students:
- Have completed one-fourth of the nursing curriculum
- Achieve academic excellence based on set criteria *
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
* Based on a 4.0 GPA scale, GEPNs need a min. 3.0 GPA, MSN/DNPs need a min. 3.5 GPA or equivalent. View a full listing of achievement standards online at www.sigmanursing.org/docs/standards.
