Distinguished Alumni Award and Decade Award

Yale School of Nursing is pleased to recognize the achievements of our outstanding alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award and Decade Award. Both awards are bestowed annually during our awards ceremony.
The Awards
Yale School of Nursing’s Distinguished Alumni Award was created in 1973. Since then, over 100 alumni have been honored, with the earliest recipient having graduated in 1926. Recipients of the YSN Distinguished Alumni Award have demonstrated achievement or distinction in their career, in their contributions to their communities, or to the Yale School of Nursing.
The Decade Award recognizes outstanding efforts and effective, value-driven outcomes achieved early in a graduate’s nursing career. To be considered for this award, nominees must have received a degree from Yale School of Nursing within the last ten years and still be engaged in pursuits that advance or align with the school’s mission of better health for all people. Nominees should show distinction in going above and beyond what might be expected early in one’s career, which may include demonstrating innovative and/or unprecedented approaches. This award recognizes a promising future in nursing excellence.
