Nursing’s Vlahov Conducts Urban Health Discussion with Moscow Mayor

Professor of Nursing Dr. David Vlahov, PhD, RN, FAAN will conduct a discussion centered on COVID-19 and cities as the plenary speaker at the Moscow Urban Forum with the city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, on July 1.

“I am looking forward to a productive discussion with Mayor Sobyanin,” Vlahov said. “The Moscow Urban Forum is a strong showcase of international talent in this area, and it will be exciting to attend other sessions as well.”

Vlahov will also lead a session on “Active Design for Architecture and Place Making to Prevent Chronic Disease.” 

The forum’s theme is “Superstar Cities. Transforming for Success,” and Vlahov is speaking in his capacity as a subject matter expert and the Founding President of the International Society for Urban Health.

Vlahov is also the editor in chief of the Journal of Urban Health, and an article he co-authored was cited in Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta’s recent letter to state courts encouraging the implementation of eviction diversion strategies
