ENRS Honors YSN Faculty Member, PhD Students

The Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) recently honored one Yale School of Nursing (YSN) faculty member and two doctoral students at a virtual conference on March 25.

Assistant Professor in Nursing Shelli Feder, ’10 MSN, ’17 PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, ACHPN (pictured left), is the recipient of the ENRS Rising Star Research Award, a distinction that recognizes a Junior Investigator who has shown promise in establishing a program of health and/or nursing research.

Dr. Feder studies ways in which healthcare organizations can implement different models of palliative care to enhance care quality and patient outcomes with a focus on patients with cardiopulmonary conditions and Veterans.

PhD student Dora Wischik, MSN, RN (center), was saluted with the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science Dissertation Award. Wischik’s dissertation will examine the association between blast exposure during the post 9/11 conflicts and the development of early metabolic abnormalities (obesity and insulin resistance) in the context of certain psychosomatic factors

PhD student Uzoji Nwanaji-Enwerem, FNP-BC, MSN, RN, BSN (pictured right), won the Student Conference Scholarship Award. For her research, Nwanaji-Enwerem is conducting an explanatory sequential mixed methods study that focuses on sleep and stigma.
